Built to be Driven · Driven to Build

Two passions.
One website.

BS23R1 started the same way most builds do — with a problem, a crazy idea, and way too much time spent figuring out how to make it work. The problem was that there wasn’t a great place online built specifically for people who are serious about their vehicles. The idea was to build one. The rest is still in progress.

What is BS23R1?

BS23R1 is a social platform built around vehicles. Not a forum with threads from 2009. Not a classifieds board. A real social experience — profiles, feeds, messaging, clubs, events, and a marketplace — but built for the people who actually care about what’s in their garage.

Whether you’re documenting a frame-off resto, swapping an LS into something it was never meant to have, building a trail rig, or just proud of a clean daily — this is the place to share it, get feedback from people who actually know what they’re looking at, and connect with a community that speaks your language.

Why BS23R1 is free — and how you’re making it better

Most platforms are free because they sell ads or your data. BS23R1 is different.

When you add a part to your build and link where you bought it, BS23R1 may earn a small affiliate commission — but only where we have a relationship with that retailer. Either way, you pay the exact same price you would have anyway. Not a penny more.

That means every part you document does three things at once:

It builds your record.

Your parts list becomes a permanent, searchable log tied to that specific vehicle — not scattered across email receipts and browser history. When you go to sell, you have documentation. When you need to reorder, it's one click.

It helps the community.

Someone else building the same platform, same engine, same use case is going to search for the same parts you just bought. Your real-world purchase — on your actual build — is worth more than any generic product review.

It keeps everything free.

No subscription. No premium tier. No ads on your build page. The people building on this platform fund the platform — and in return, the platform keeps building for them.

Add a part and link where you bought it

2

Someone clicks through and buys from the retailer

3

Where we're affiliated with that retailer, they pay a small commission — you pay nothing extra either way

You’re not doing us a favor by sharing links. You’re doing yourself one.

The site will never need to monetize you to survive — because the community funds it just by doing what they were already doing.

Who built this thing?

This isn’t a company. There’s no team, no office, no dev department, no marketing budget. It’s one person with a car problem and a coding problem — and the slightly questionable belief that putting them together could result in something worth using.

Every feature you see was designed, built, and shipped solo. That means things might move slower than you’d get from a funded startup with a team of engineers. But it also means this was built by someone who actually uses this stuff — who’s been under a car at 2am with a flashlight in their mouth, who’s ordered the wrong part twice, and who’s definitely bought something they didn’t need just because it was on sale.

The features exist because they were genuinely needed. The tools are here because I got tired of hunting across five different sites to do one calculation. The community features are here because the car world is better when you can actually connect with people who get it.

Here’s what you can do

If you find value here, the best thing you can do is share. Share your build. Share the parts you’re running. Share the link the next time someone asks “where’d you get that?” Your share doesn’t cost you anything — not a subscription, not a fee, not even a sign-up if you’re just browsing. But it might be exactly what keeps this site alive and growing.

What more support makes possible

  • More platforms and years in the builder tools
  • A real mobile app
  • Better club, crew, and event features
  • An expanded marketplace with more categories
  • More tools, calculators, and reference guides
  • Whatever the community actually asks for next
